Focus on the Subject

This week Patti has given us the Lens-Artists-Photo- Challenge of Focus on the Subject. And not only that! Patti has also given us the different ways we can encourage the viewer to focus on our subject.

  1. Leading lines or repeating patterns.

Thank you for this challenge Patti. First of all ,it gave me a chance to go through the archives and see what I had that might fit this challenge. Second, it made me think about the idea of how to guide a viewers eyes to focus on the subject of my photos.

    #5 Horse and rider going over the fence is a classic image. Horse is focused on what is in front of them, while their rider is looking 2-3 fences ahead. I have many of this kind of image in my archives. 🙂

    Yes I remember some of the photos here, but I really like it to enjoy it with new theme. Photography has so much in it, you are making the subject photography broader 🙂

    Beautifully done Anne. Not surprising that you’ve captured the action perfectly as well as focused on the eyes as your horse photography is always wonderful. In this set I especially loved the colorful Kew gardens image!

    Hi Anne – Excellent shots, and good illustrations of the point. Is the horse in the “wheee” shot clearing four feet? That must be a complete rush to jump a four-rail fence like that!

      Yes that was a Grand Prix class and it would have been 4 ft . It is a rush but on the day I went I thought it would be great to go back to the jumper classes. Then the first horse refused out. The fourth horse ran out of one fence and dumped his rider head first into the fence. So then I remembered that jumping is prone to the unexpected as well as the rush. 🤣
