Architecture LAPC #173

This week Tina, of Travels and Trifles, has challenged us to show some photos of interesting Architecture! Here are some from London.

The White Tower of the Tower of London at night.
The Shard seen from the roof of the White Tower.
A pie shaped building!
New and Old in the City
Look up! There is something interesting!
Print of Leadenhall market back in the day.
Leadenhall Market present day.
London is a city where you can turn a corner and see something interesting like this colorful building and what about the ornate wrought iron balconies!
The home of former Prime Minister Edward Heath. To me this house is so pleasing to the eye. The layout with the central door and tall rectangular windows evenly spaced on each side.
Salisbury Cathedral

Wonderful selection Anne. The home of former Prime Minister reminds me of the houses of English period dramas.

    1. anne leueen Avatar

Yes, that house is old enough to have played a role in those dramas. Thanks for commenting Rupali.

Such a amazing array of old with new. Love the old, the ornate detail in the architecture just stunning.

Interesting view! I’d love to take a walk just to check out what unique architectures are around in London😌💕

You should to that. It is a very interesting city with a lot of history built in to the architecture.

Wonderfully British today Anne! I’m glad Robert mentioned the carcasses because although I loved the print I hadn’t noticed those! Otherwise it looks much the same as it did back then. Also, I loved the lantern you highlighted earlier, it’s so beautiful. Good eye.

Thank you Tina it was a fun challenge. 😊

Terrific architectural album, Anne. Interesting old print of Leadenhall – all those formally-dressed people, surrounded by masses of animal carcasses. And I wonder if the people in that triangular building dream of pie every night!

    1. anne leueen Avatar

Haha! Yes those carcasses are a bit disturbing. They have now been replaced with pubs!

        That’s more like it! 👍🏼
