Another Great Day!

Today Lynsey Rowan rode my horse Biasini in the FEI Intermediare 1 test at the Global Dressage Festival in Wellington Florida. This test is more difficult than the Prix St. George that they did yesterday. It has a more complicated canter half pass zig zag with three half passes and flying changes in between each change of direction. Also the pirouettes are full circles not just a half circle. They did very well and came in second with a score of 69.44. The winning score was 70.29. I was delighted with how the test went. Here are some photos. First of all the preparation. Barb Sinclair, the owner of another horse that Lynsey rides, came to do some laser treatment on Biasini. She did his TMJs on both sides as well as his neck and shoulder. . Lynsey is holding his halter to keep him steady. I was grateful for the laser treatment as it really does seem help Biasini to be more comfortable..

Once Biasini gets his boots on for the trailer he knows he is going somewhere. So he started to pace in his stall and Lynsey took him out for some grass. But nope, he wanted to get on that trailer. So he was loaded up and we set off to the Global showgrounds. Once there he was happy to get out and nibble some grass at the side of the trailer!

Lynsey and Super Groom Lexi got him tacked up and they walked over to the warmup ring . I waited at Ring 3 where Biasini and Lynsey would go through the Intermediare 1 test. At 12:20 in they came. One of the first movements is a shoulder in on the center line.

The trot tour is followed by the walk , exended walk and then canter and the half pass zig zag.

The photo above shows Lynsey guiding Biasini in the last of three half passes . She takes him to the centerline and then asks for a flying change and turns to the left for the extended canter..photo below.

Biasini also exected the full pirouettes very nicely.

Just for fun here is a photo that shows, from the left,Super Groom Lexi taking video on a phone, then laser specialist Barb Sinclair ,Coach Belinda Trussell and friend Krista Pollock and finally Ian Sinclair,Barb’s husband.

To finish the test the final halt and salute to the judge.

Here is a video taken by my husband. He says it is not his best. But Ithink it is fine. Also there is the music playing on the speakers. As I explained yesterday this takes down other loud noises, helicopter or airplane sounds that might startle the horses. Also the Billy Joel song is a copyright issue and the video cannot be played in Russia. This is what You Tube tells me.

So it was another great day. I was so proud of my horse and of Lynsey doing such a fine job of guiding Biasini through this test.

Lynsey looked great on your Biasini. But, I want you to remember once you’re cleared to ride, that’s going to be you out there. You can do a lot of off-saddle work by watching and taking notes. You know what to do; it’s a matter of going out and doing it. I’m sure Coach Belinda has told you that too. If she hasn’t, she’s pretty darn close.

About some tests and practice sessions being harder than others, that is so true. And, maybe not much fun either. Kent Farrington, once said, you have to love it all, even the hard training days, and the days when you look like a beginner, in their first class, at their first show. That’s what drives our passions. Kent also said remember to have fun on those difficult days too.

Have I pumped you up??? (LOL) 😊🐎🐎🐎😊

    Take care, Anne.

Thank you for commenting Lesley. When there is harmony between horse and rider this creates elegance.

I think all Equestrian disciplines need precision but in dressage it is very obvious. Thanks for commenting Neal.
