Today I watched Lysney ride in a lesson with Belinda Trussell. They did a warm up in the covered arena and I took some video with my phone. Belinda was teaching using her Cee coach mic system. My phone was not able to pick up her vocals well enough as she is not amplified as she is in the mic system in the arena at home. So I added some music to the video.
In this lesson Belinda asked Lynsey, in the half pass to the right to get Biasini off her right leg and to give him a bump if he did not respond. In the video you will see they execute a lovely half pass and then Belinda asks Lynsey to turn to the right at the end of the arena and then get him off her right leg and keep her hands forward in the corner. She told Lynsey to make sure she could feel that she could let Biasini go .He was not to be pulling on her. Then and only then could she start the half pass. Belinda asks Lynsey for more cadence (this is air time in the trot) and to do it by just thinking more cadence and asking with her knees. You can see that Biasini responds and gives a bit more air in the trot half pass. Do click to see the video It’s fun with the music!!
