Belinda rode Biasini today and I had the pleasure of watching them. I told Belinda that when I had gone to see Biasini in the cross ties while he was getting tacked up he was very annoyed with me. He pawed with his front feet, put his ears back and gave me a “look”. Belinda said she thought he missed me and was annoyed I was there but not riding him. She may be right. Would his annoyance carry over into his work with Belinda?
Belinda started with their usual stretching trot warm up and then moved to warm up canter. Belinda told me that what she wanted to work on today with Biasini was leg yield and she started with canter leg yield.

Here is a video of the canter leg yield.
Belinda asks Biasini to move sideways and he responds very well. This is the basics for all lateral work at the canter.
Next she moved on to trot work. Here is a video of the leg yield in trot.
Again this is a basic exercise that asks Biasini to remain straight in his body and to move sideways across the arena. Belinda manages the straightness perfectly between her two legs and two hands. Belinda was very happy with Biasini and I could see he was working so well for her. So he may be annoyed with me but he does not carry this over into his work with Belinda! What a good boy! And tomorrow he has a real treat. He will be doing some jumps with Belinda’s daughter Sophie. I know he will enjoy that. I hope to be able to take some photos to show you.
I’d love to hear from you!
