FOTD: a discovery!

The photo above shows me out with my friend Walter Walker. I try to walk for 20 minutes each day as I recover from my hip surgery. and this route is paved which makes it easier for Walter’s wheels. This route goes round a large pond and takes about 20 minutes. My husband comes with us and our little dog June also enjoys the route.

We have taken this walk a few times now but the last time we saw something we had missed before. At the start of the walk there are some beautiful Beach Roses.

They are really lovely and I could see that they are somewhat obscured by larger green plants. But I was delighted to have seen them this time. So I shall enter them into Cee’s Flower Of The Day

Great to see you up and about Anne! Great that you have a walkable path, I’m sure you’ll be fully-healed much sooner with the ability to be out and about. The beach roses are beautiful – I’d not heard of them before.

Tha Beach roses were new to us as well. I Googled the photos and it told me what they were. Thanks for your comment!

Hi Anne, You and Walter are looking very spiffy. Your flowers are gorgeous. I’m so glad you are doing well. How long are you and Walter going to stay best buddies?

    1. anne leueen Avatar

Not sure how long Walter and I will be besties. I like to have Walter for the longer walks but will move to my cane for short hops probably next week. Thanks for you comment!

Yeah. You are making great progress. My husband, Mark had hip surgery at age 27. He was a little too aggressive on his healing process and went without a cane almost immediately. He walked great, but we went on a ferry in WA, and a kid was running around, bumped into him and knocked him down. What a panic. After that he always carried a cane even if he didn’t need it to walk.

I like the walker because if I get tired I can sit on it!

How handy. You got the Cadillac model. I had the cheap model but not so cheap considering how long I used it!

            I am only renting
Walter he goes back to the store once I can8 walk well without him

Smart girl. I only used mine for a week or two. We weren’t that prepared for such equipment to know how and where to get it. We ended up donating it after I was done with it to Catholic Charities. When I went there, they had a huge room full of all kinds of medical equipment people might need, had I only known. (borrow and return).
