Christmas will soon be here. Our son , who lives in England , is here for the holidays. We have not seen him in two years. So I have decided that I will take a break from posting on the blog in order to make the most of his visit. We will all go up to our daughter’s on Christmas day. We will spend Boxing Day packing for Florida. Our son will have a visit with a friend who lives in Toronto and then fly back to London and we will start the three day drive down to Florida.
This week Tina has handed the week’s Lens Artists Photo Challenge over to us . It is “Our Choice“. Since my choice is firstly, to take a break, I will give you one photo as my response to this challenge.

There are a few things I would like to tell you about what is in this photo. The tree is decorated with some ornaments that date back to my childhood. There are more recent ones too such as the paintings of the black and grey mini- Schnauzers on the lower left. These were bought in 2010 in Kentucky. Throughout there are horses and birds . The decorated cloth around the bottom was made by a friend of my mother’s .It dates from the late 1950s.
Next to the tree is jolly fellow who was given to us many years ago. I love his smile. Every time I look at that smile I have to smile too.
Hanging from the mantlepiece is a large red stocking. This was mine when I was very young. I have photos of it dating from the time when I would have been only a few years old. It is a bit fragile now but I still hang it up every year.
Thank you Tina for this challenge. I would like to wish all my blogger friends Happy and Healthy Holidays and a Peaceful New Year. Biasini may repost his thoughts on flying reindeer and I will try to see what you are all posting via my Reader. Other than that I will see you in 2022!
I’d love to hear from you!
