This is my final entry to Dawn’s Festival of Leaves. Today the lads who cut our grass came to clear off the fallen leaves. One has a big leaf blower and blows the leaves to the south edge of our property. The leaves danced across the driveway as if they were happy not to be left fading on the lawn.

Then the other lad comes with a smaller leaf blower and blows the leaves into the field next to us. This was a corn field until yesterday when the farmers came with their huge combine harvester and the corn was cut and harvested . So the leaves were happy to go into the field and add their compostable fiber to the earth of the field.

Finally here is our leaf free lawn. Our neighbours across the road have not removed their leaf carpet yet. But you can see the naked maple trees standing bare and waiting for the first snowfall.

I love how poetic & pretty you’ve made this post ❤

your idea of dancing is perfect — & the music is the rustlings… ❤

Thank you! It is true the rustling is a music to my ears.

Especially this year, leaves fell faster.

Thank you Diana They have been beautiful and it is sad to see them go. Today it has been dreary with high winds and a bit of snow late afternoon. Shades of things to come!

Wow! What a difference those leaf blowers make!

They are very handy and a lot faster and easier than raking leaves.

So pretty! And how awesome that the leaves are used to improve the soil on the cornfield next door! Genius! I hope you are enjoying a marvellous weekend.

Yes it is good to know that even when they have fallen they still have a good purpose. Tbe timing was perfect with the corn having been harvested the night before. I hope your weekend is good too . I read about your new apartment and how it is in an environmentally sound building. Excellent!

I’m glad to see them going into the cornfield. all of the leaves should be composted, mulched, or tilted into the ground, not hauled off to landfills, that’s craziness. I like your last dance idea, although the music is a bit noisy! the

Yes it is a raucous white noise! But thr leaves didn’t seem to mind.

What a splendid image with the notion of a dancing leaf? Waltz, fox trot, or perhaps jitter bug?
LikeLiked by 2 people
Ah! Yes. Certainly fox trot. And maybe combination of all three dances.
