As I walked out to the paddock to get Biasini I was delighted to see these wild flowers growing at the sides of the horse paddocks. These are chicory which I have learned is a member of the dandelion family. Each bloom only lasts a day.

At our home I noticed some more “wild ones” growing in the grass between our fence and the fence of the farm next to us.

These ‘Wild Ones” do not get any fertilizer or trimming or staking. They are fending for themselves amidst the tall grass.

So I thought that they deserved to get some recognition in Cee’s Flower of the Day Challenge.
Coming across wild klowers is one of the big pleasures about going for a walk or hike outside in nature!

A one day bloom – how sad! I guess they truly make the most of their “day in the sun”!

Yes similar to day lillies. But the chicory have blossoms up the stem and each day one comes out and then fades
