Just to be clear I am not speaking of any sort of dementia or any medical condition that would impair mental function. I am just speaking about that brain fog that clouds my head when I get overloaded. Too many things to do, too many things to remember, too many things to schedule and not enough time. Priorities start to get foggy, things get forgotten, things are remembered that disturb my sleep at 4 am! My son who lives in London England sent me this photo he had taken on a foggy night in London. That is just like my brain I thought. Foggy with lights refracting and disturbing the image.

Whoa! Time to do something about this fog. That is the point I reached this past weekend. What did I do to clear the fog? I went back to my priorities and got rid of one major thing that was cluttering up my time.
I closed down, deleted, and unpublished my Horse Addict Leueen Facebook page. I had originally set up this page to give my blog posts a wider spread.I chose to separate it from my own personal Facebook page because I found it was necessary to be able to ban people who came on with negative comments. Facebook does seem to have some trolls who specialize in doing that. But in order to maintain an audience for this page I had to share something horse related at least three times a day. But it was not fulfilling the original purpose of the page which was to bring readers to my blog posts. So I closed the page.
I was surprised what a relief it was. I no longer had to start looking at horse sites on Facebook to find things to share before I had eaten my breakfast. I could focus on my blog and on reading other bloggers work on WordPress.
My horse Biasini does not have to deal with Brain Fog. He lives in the present. Here he is snoozing in the cross ties under the heating lamp. He is not worried about what we will be doing in our ride or whether he will get dinner. He is just enjoying this moment in the warmth.

I know I could benefit from this approach to life but it is not always practical for a human being. However eliminating stress producers is a good start. The fog has lifted!
I’d love to hear from you!
