The weather has been perfect for riding; sunny and warm but not hot. The skies are blue and at Belinda Trussell’s Oakcrest Farm there is a beautiful outdoor arena up on the hill. Yesterday I had my lesson there and despite the fact that I seemed to have some difficulty executing the canter flying changes in a standard that met Belinda’s, it was a glorious day for riding outdoors and I always find that arena inspirational. Today I did not have a lesson and took the long route to get to the outdoor arena. There is a forest trail that leads from the back of the paddocks, through the forest, and comes out at the top of the hill near the arena. It takes about 15 minutes and with hills up and down it is the perfect warm up for Biasini.
At the end of our lesson yesterday we finished up with a bit of trot work. Belinda uses a mic system so I can hear what she is saying (directly into my ear) without her having to shout. On this video you can hear her instruction to me.
I am counting my blessings with days like these.
I’d love to hear from you!
