England is a horse loving nation so it makes sense that horses are used to attract consumers to products. I’m not seeing any live horses this week but I have noticed plenty of other horses: horse statues, horses in art, and horses in advertisements.
In the Times newspaper I saw this.
I do not have any information about why the rearing horse is advertising the Biennale in Paris but it caught my eye.
Then there is Lloyds’ Bank. Their symbol is a black stallion and they have been using commercials and posters for years that feature the black horse.
Their TV ads with various black horses have been really brilliant and when walking down the King’s Road I noticed a poster in the Lloyds’ window. Here it is.
I am not sure if this black horse had to actually trot along the cobblestones or he may have been recreated or photo shopped into the picture. But if he did have to trot along the cobbles I suspect he would be thinking that his agent should have negotiated a better financial reward given this tricky footing.
I’d love to hear from you!
