Hello Dear Humans. I know Ma Leueen has already put up something on her Blob about me being lame. But I thought you would like to hear about it from my point of view. So here goes…. At the start of the week when Ma Leueen asked me to pick up the trot when I did I felt something wasn’t right I felt that my foot was sore not hideously sore but just a bit sore. Sore enough and I thought well I’m just going to take a shorter step with that leg then and I did that and then I heard Ma Leueen saying to Coach Belinda “I think that he’s is not right is he off can you look and see if he’s lame and then coach Belinda took a look at me and she had asked Ma Leueen to go down the long side of the arena with a forward trot ,you know, a bigger trot so I did that but I still was finding that my foot was sore so I tried but couldn’t really do it well. So Ma Leueen and coach Belinda decided I was LAME!! So Ma Leueen So Ma Leueen called out the vet Then Dr Richelle came out The first thing that they did was they took me into the arena and put me on a lunge line and then they made me trot around on the lunge When I did this my foot was still very uncomfortable and so I wasn’t stepping out too well with it I mean I tried but I couldn’t really step out too well you know what I mean. Then Dr R Richelle told Ma Leueen she wanted to freeze freeze my foot. The assistant then rubbed some stuff onto the back of my ankle ThenDr Richelle put a needle into the back of my ankle and they took me back out to the arena and her assistant put me back on the lunge line now I found it was possible to her go on and my foot didn’t seem to be so painful in fact it wasn’t painful at all in fact I couldn’t really feel it all that much. So I trotted out well. Then they took me back into their into the grooming stall and then Dr Rochelle came over and she gave me another needle now my whole foot was sort of numb when they led me away I gave my foot for a good stomp on the ground I want to make sure that it was still there you know.
So this time when they took me into the arena dr Rochelle picked up a lunging whip and she flicked it a bit at me and I trotted I really trotted out and my foot felt absolutely fine so then Dr Richelle said that what this meant was since she has not frozen any the areas that would be for a suspensory injury, those are what I had before ,that she said :”Well one thing we know for sure it’s not a suspensory injury>” Ma Leueen looked really relieved. I was too I was very relieved I don’t need to have all that stall rest or time spend at the vet’s clinic or any of that stuff all over again so I was happy to know that it was not a suspensory injury . So now what happens next ?Well apparently next week on Wednesday I think it is .I am now on “stall rest” no going out to my paddock. But Ma leueen comes every day with her husband David. He a always has nice carrots for me and he takes me out for walks around the barn.
I also get to go out in the evening with the pony clubbers now they’re an interesting group, an interesting group indeed! Several of us horses are taken out together and we are all taken out just for grass by the pony clubbers I am taken out by Carl the barn manager’s daughter her name is Brooklin I really enjoy the evenings it’s so pleasant we horses love to get out there and get some grass you know. So on Wednesday If I trot up properly then we’ll know that I’m fixed and I’m ready to go back to work again I certainly hope that I will be able to just trot out in a normal way so anyway ,that’s all for me for now ,Till next time dear Humans.
