This past week I went to see the surgeon who had replaced the socket liner in my right hip. When he came in to to see me the first thing he said was: ” Are you ready to ride your horse?” Needless to say I said “YES”.
I also told him my horse had a tendon injury, in his right front leg, and was only allowed to walk.”The right leg,”The surgeon said. ” Same as you. OK so you can rehab together.” That was music to my ears.
So today, Wednesday July5th, I got on Biasini for the first time in almost a year. Lynsey Rowan who has been riding him helped me and stood in front of him while I got on. David , my husband, had to help me get my leg over the back of the saddle. But I hope that will get better . Then Lynsey walked around in the arena with us. It was an extremely hot day and the indoor arena was a cooler place to ride.
I’m sure my abductor muscles will be sore tomorrow but that is a small price to pay. So now Biasini and I will continue our rehab together!
