I have my official media accreditation for The Winter Equestrian Festival. This show runs from January 4th until April 2 making it the longest runing horse show in the world. There are literally thousands of horses that come from all over the world to compete in the hunter jumper classes. There are thousands of $ in prize money also.
Tomorrow I will post about the official press conferece that is taking place at midday. The press conference covers both WEF and the Adequan Global Dressage Festival. The photo below shows you the entrance to the showgrounds. The name has changed from Palm Beach International Equestian to Wellington International. Still the same place just a different name to reflect the new owners of the facility.

The photo above was taken by my husband when I got home from the Battle of the Sexes last Saturday night. The red is a reflection of my cars rear lights on the garage door of the condo we are staying in. This year the media tags are much bigger and for any of the Saturday night competitions, in the International Arena, Media must also wear a vest. The professional videographers have one that says “FILM” and for people like me who are taking photos but do not sell any of them. We wear “MEDIA”.
So the busy season begins! This year there are Pan Am Games in Santiago Chile in the autumn. I will be interviewing the Canadian Dressage Riders who have declared for the Pan Ams. I am looking foreward to finding out what has motivated them to declare and how they are feeling about competing here in Florida to get the qualifying scores to try to make the Canadian Team!
This means there may be some nights I am not able to follow all the other bloggers I follow in my Reader. I apologize in advance and will try to catch up with you all when I can.
Hasta la proxima amigos! Most of the people here who are grooms and take care of the horses are Spanish speaking and it gives me a chance to practice my not very good Spanish!
I’d love to hear from you!
