I am still just taking Biasini for a trail ride at the walk but I have the pleasure of watching him ridden by my coach Belinda Trussell and her assistant trainer Lynsey Rowan. This week I watched Lynsey accomplish something that I have struggled with in the past. She rode Biasini down the longside in travers ( haunches in) she then asked him to increase the angle ( bring the haunches farther in) . I mentioned to Lynsey, at the end, that this was so impressive to me as I had many lessons with Belinda asking me to get more angle and I would not be able to achieve it. Lynsey said: “I just ask him for more angle and he gives it to me. ” It is that simple. Lynsey is so clear in the precision of her aids that Biasini understand exactly what she is asking for. She also told me that when I get back to riding and training I will be able to get more angle too . Here is a video of Lynsey getting more angle in the travers.
Lynsey also did some lovely canter work. Here is a video of her doing a canter half pass across the arena and a nice flying change at the end.
At the end of their work in the arena Lynsey took Biasini and her dog Murphy out to the forest. In this video you can see how Murphy listens to Lynsey telling him to stay with her and Biasini or to go on ahead.
I am hoping for an early surgery to replace the parts of my replaced hip that have worn out. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
I’d love to hear from you!
