We have a new chef!

Our Grandson stayed with us this past weekend. His favorite food is scrambled eggs. And he makes them himself: gets the eggs out of the fridge, cracks them open, puts the shells into the wet recycling bin, mixes the eggs, gets the frying pan,a spatula and cooks the eggs!

He is 7 years old. . When I was his age I was not even allowed into the kitchen. His Mum and Dad have done a good job training him with Chef skills! Jamie Oliver had better look out the next generation is moving on up!

Nice range you have. What kind?

I’ve cooked on Jenn Air ranges only. That’s a fast way to get spoiled when cooking. It’s good your grandson is learning how to cook. Girls like boys who know how to cook better. 🙂

It’s Jenn air. We like it. My husbamd is the cook in our house. He took over from me when he retired.

I haven’t seen a Jenn Air cooktop like yours before. When we moved to North Ranch, I had to adjust to cooking on a gas cooktop, which is a Jenn Air too. I didn’t want to blow myself up just to have scrambled eggs or something. 🙂

When I lived in England I has a gas stove and it had a grill at the top. I loved it. I was not happy to cook on electric when I moved back to Canada.

Cooking is such a great way to connect children with the food they eat and they’re more likely to.try food they haven’t eaten before. I became interested in food and started cooking when I was around 16 and haven’t stopped. With your grandson starting so early, it will certainly inspire him to be more creative.

He’s a good eater. I hope he will expand to other things with his cooking.
