At 7am the sun was not fully up and a thick mist was on the farmer’s field.
But by 7:30 am it was a different scene!
These maples are giving some of the best color I have seen this year This autumn we have had above average temperatures and lots of rain. Many of the trees have just turned yellow and their leaves have dropped to the ground. By 9 am the clouds had moved in and it was overcast with sprinkles of rain all day. I was glad I had been up to see the sunshine and this Festival of Leaves
Thanks Diana. It amazed me how much of a difference a half hour made. I saw the mist when I got up as that view is to the west of us. I immediately went for my camera!
I took that photo almost a week ago and already many of the leaves have fallen. We have storms this weekend so that will be the end. Enjoy your color in WA.
Such lovely images. I love that you thoughtfully captured the same area before and after the sunrise, the mist looks like water and the sunny version turns your focus to the beautiful colors, great detail skills.
You are an aware photographer. More so now when you have cared for the animals so much, i see that you see and care to detail for the light, and i am certain for anyone present in your life Anne.
Such a beautiful misty morning. 😊

Thank you Irene. I know you are often out and about in the early morning so you may have those mists where you are too.

Beautiful maple trees and that low fog photo was great, and to see the difference with the sun shining is so pretty! ❤️

Beautiful maples, Anne! What a great shot–we are seeing the blush of maples here in Spokane WA, too!

Beautiful, Anne. With little rain and hot weather this summer, many of our trees are dropping leaves, rather than turning.

Yes it is not the best year for color. And up here many of the leaves have already gone. But thanks for commenting!
