A ‘Soft’ Day or a Glass of Milk?

The weather Deities must have heard about this weeks Lens-Artists Challenge. Ann Christine gave us the challenge of “soft “.

I did not think I had photos that would work for the soft challenge. But ….when I woke up this morning we had dense fog. It was 0 Celsius and 92% humidity according to our weather station. The Weather Deities had given me a chance to respond to the challenge. My husband looked out and said: “It’s like living in a glass of milk.”

Here are my photos.

The view from the kitchen window. The twigs that mark the edge of our property are barely visible.
View of our back garden Cannot see the farmer’s silos or the barn and other buildings. Just a soft veil of fog.

Three hours later the soft veil of fog has lifted and everything is back in sharp clarity. We still have snow on the ground and the sky is grey but nothing is soft about the view.

      Yes it is vastly colder than where you are. But we get used to it and have the clothing, boots etc. The fog can be a driving challenge however as the visibility is so hampered. But the morning I took those photos at 7:30 am by !0:30 am it had completely cleared!

    Lovely shots, Anne. They bring back good memories of waking in the park on cold winter days with snow and sometimes fog. 🙂

    I see what you mean now, yes, seems the Weather Deities have really prepared this.. both soft and harsh snow show for the beginning of March there, really, thinking of the cold, I mean. But the photos are very nice, soothing even, it all looks peaceful and still. 😊

      The fog lifted but the snow remained. We are ready for some warmer weather and spring up here. But we must have patience. It will come.

    The sky is also in the color of snow on snowy days, everything looks same, glass of milk is very correct I feel.

    Well, I just wrote a comment…but it disappeared in the fog it seems! Here we go again: I think the weather guys were very alert to get featured in a challenge! And a glass of milk is a very apt description of the situation – my compliments to your husband and to you!

That would be a very stressful way of living – so I’m glad you share your full time attendance there to the two of you.           I believe Biasini would be on the phone all the time if he had one. But seriously he is a good fellow. We had a rider whose horse had a bad turn and decided to do some rodeo moves and dumped his rider. This happened about 10 feet in front of Biasini and he put his head up and snorted twice but did not move. I honestly felt he knew he had to be sensible so I would not get hurt. I had already dismounted and was standing next to him so if he had bolted, as many horses would in that situation ,he would have plowed into me. I am very grateful to have a horse with his good sense .

    I like a foggy day, which is a good thing, living in Milwaukee, it’s pretty common. I’ve never heard that glass of milk comparison, I like it!

      My husband made it up. With the snow on the ground and the white fog it did loom like a glass of milk.😄
