The wheel within the wheel. The circle in the spiral.

Round like a circle in a spiral .Like a wheel within a wheel. Never ending or beginning…

Windmills of your mind.

The Ragtag Daily Prompt for yesterday was Like a Circle in a Spiral. Well I remember that from a song, Windmills of Your Mind and that movie with Faye Dunaway and Steve McQueen. And here is my take on the prompt.

We have had a cold spring and the farmers around us have had a tough time getting their fields plowed and sown. Here is a video of the field just next to our house. This huge machine came in to harrow the field and later, in the dark sow corn. Watch the video to the end and turn up your sound.

As you can see those are some pretty BIG wheels! But nature did not play along with the farmer. Just after the corn was sown the weather went cold and temperatures were below freezing at night. Then in the morning …..snow! This was followed by a dry spell. We are not farmers but we wondered if the corn would ever come up. But look at how it is today after some warm weather and rain.

This is the ultimate circle. The circle of nature showing resilience and survival.

Thank you. It came to me as I had done the video a few weeks back to send to our Grandson. I’m glad you liked it.

I even had a dream about horses last night. I’m not a horse person because I’m afraid of them but still they feel that I love animals and they pick me out to say hallo.

That is wonderful! It is normal to be afraid of horses because they are so big and let’s face it….they can be dangerous. But if they are choosing to come to you in your sleep then they do know you love animals and that you are an open soul.

I’ve heard snow acts like a blanket and insulates the plants. Have no idea if it’s true. Love that you filmed this for your big-machine loving grandson 🙂

Thanks! I love seeing the big rigs at work. About three decades ago we spent 6 months driving around Australia in a campervan with our two kids then aged 2 and 4. Wonderful country!

It’s a good illustration of the circle comin’ round again, it’s a great time of year, when the trees leaf out and the crops all sprout up.
I have an aunt who lived on a small farm, and her husband fixed up old tractors as a kind of hobby – – I think about those 18 -25 horsepower Farmalls, compared to these huge modern one, with HP in the hundreds!

There is one neighbour across from us that has an older tractor but it is still pretty big. The other farms have gigantic ones like the one in the video. We see some pretty amazing pieces of farm equipment being pulled along our road. Huge!

Well Susie when our Prime Minister said on his daily Covid address to the nation that is was time for Canadians to come home we thought we better get on the road. We left a month early in Mid March. May 11 we had snow on the ground in the morning. But last weekend we had a Heat Alert and temps in the high 80s with high humidity Now we have more normal warm weather and light rains.
