Hello Dear Humans! I have a new bodyguard! Are you asking why I need one? Well, as you may know, I am in Florida now and I have a lovely big grass paddock that I go out in for the whole morning. If you saw my previous post you will have seen a photo. But in case you missed it here is it again.

After a couple of days in the paddock I started to hear some noises in the woods. Then I smelt something. I’m not sure what. Who knows what sort of creatures there could be down here in Florida. Bears? Big cats? Large reptiles? I know at home I can smell when there are bears in the forest. Yes, I can. So I knew there was something in the woods. So I was nervous. But Coach Lou had a solution. He got me my very own body guard!

My bodyguard’s name is Khan. I know him from last year because he was in the stall next to me. He’s a pretty cool guy. We are not exactly best buddies but we get on ok. He is a perfect body guard because he is HUGE! Seriously huge. He is very, very tall and has big long legs and great big feet and a big head. He’s high up there and can keep a beady eye on anything coming from the woods. I got Ma Leueen to take some photos of him so you can see how big he is.

Khan is 18 hooves high. Oh yes…I know…Humans say Hands high but I’ve never understood that. We horses don’t have hands so why would we be measured in hands? Anyway..Khan is a big guy. That’s Coach Lou in the background there.
Khan tells me he is the leader of a herd of horses at home where he lives. He lives up north somewhere most of the year and only comes here in the winter. He talks a lot about how all the other horses obey him and he won’t let them into the run in shed which they have for when it is cold or wet. I think he’s showing off a bit and so I just say: “Yeah, whatever Khan. There is no run in shed here so we don’t need to worry about that. “
Sometimes I will mosey up to him and threaten to give him a nip. Just to bug him if you know what I mean. He puts his ears back and threatens to give me a walloping. Well I high tail it then and I say “Just kidding Khan. Just kidding.” There is no way I’d get into a fight with a big guy like Khan. Here’s a nice photo of him with Coach Lou.

So that is my bodyguard. I am not the least bit worried about what may be in the woods with Khan around. Till next time Dear Humans.
I’d love to hear from you!
