Well it was all about the Royal Wedding today. I did not get up at 4am to see the full coverage but turned on the TV just in time to see the bride arrive at the church. I loved the ceremony. Actually that is an understatement. I thought it was FABULOUS! The address by Reverend Curry, the gospel choir singing Stand By Me. Fabulous.Wonderful. Inspirational.
After the ceremony came the carriage ride through Windsor and here were the horses: the Cavalry Blacks of the Household Cavalry and the Windsor Greys . The Windsor Greys pull the carriages that carry the Queen and other members of the Royal Family. They get their name from the Victorian times when they were stabled at Windsor. These horses must be at least 16.1 hands ( 1.65 m) at the withers and have steady temperaments.
I snapped some photos with my phone of the TV screen. The two outrider horses are Plymouth and Londonderry while Milford Haven, Sir Basil , Tyrone and Storm are pulling the carriage.
The outrider horse on the right in this photo was rather excited by the incredible atmosphere. His rider did a masterful job of keeping him on the straight and narrow and avoiding any complications.

It was a grand day and a source of much joy. I think many of us feel that there is cause for optimism when a African American bishop can close his address on love, at a British Royal Wedding, with a quote from Martin Luther King.
Amen!!
I’d love to hear from you!
