My Wish for You….

If you are celebrating Christmas or Hanukah I wish you good health and much joy. If you do not celebrate either of those festivals, then my wish for you is the same; good health and much joy.

Good health comes first as without it celebrating anything is a struggle. If you or someone dear to you is unwell, either physically or mentally, it is hard to appreciate the bounty of Christmas or any other holiday. So, I wish you good health.

Then I wish you joy. Our world is full of disruption and struggle so any chance we have to be joyful is a chance we must make the most of.

Good health and much joy to you all.

Hanukkah is the Jewish celebration that began on Christmas Eve and continues for several days. It has been 40 years since it has fallen on the same date as the christian celebration of Christmas. I’m sorry to say that other than knowing they light a candle on a menorah each day of Hanukkah I do not know anything more of the history of this celebration.
