Imagine impacting the blogosphere! I have been alive since the days where there was no internet let alone a blogosphere. But the blogosphere has bloggers of all ages, and from all parts of the globe. I am honored to have been given this recognition award by Lazy Haze Click on that link to see what is blogging there. The first time I went to Lazy Haze I went to the About section. Here I read the following: “do not expect anything more than shameful self-centered soul searching and morbid self pity.” YES! Just the sort of self deprecating humor I like best. I knew I was going to enjoy the site.
I started my blog site Horse Addict after much encouragement from my two adult children. I had been writing editorial pieces for a British equestrian social media site and also for a Canadian site. There were some elements of frustration involved with both. So my son and daughter kept saying :”You should start your own blog site.” Finally my son was visiting last March and sat me down and set up the site for me. The rest as they say…….
What advice would I give to new bloggers? If you are with WordPress then avail yourself of the very good support and the online courses they offer at the Blogging U and also the First Friday. Secondly do not get too caught up in looking at your stats and despairing if you think they are not high enough. Stats are just that…..stats. Be patient and keep blogging, writing , photographing what you like and love and the rest will follow.
Who are the bloggers that I read? There are several horse bloggers that I really enjoy. They live in different parts of the world, they ride in different disciplines, some have their own horses, others ride leased horses or school horses. But we all have a love of horses in common and we all write about how they affect our lives.
Here are the horse blogs I follow”
I also enjoy these non horsey blogs:
Click on any of the above blog sites to see what they are up to. I have now nominated them and should they decide to accept there are rules connected to this Blogger Recognition Award. Here they are:
- Write a post to show your award.
- Thank whoever nominated you, and provide a link to their blog.
- Give a brief story of how your blog started.
- Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
- Select other blogs you want to give the award to
I’d love to hear from you!
