Saturday Squirrels

This is the best tme of year to be a squirrel. the farmer’s field to the south of us has corn that it now almost ripe. The squirrels climb up the stalks of corn and pull off a corn cob. Then they run onto our lawn and get the husks off.

Some of the corn they will eat . But some kernels are taken and buried for the winter.

Some are buried quite deep. I have no idea how they find them when the grass is covered with snow. But this winter I shall watch them to see if they dig up any buried kernals.

It must be a very tolerant farmer that allows his crops to be raided this way! On the other hand. who’s going to try and stop something that is so darn cute!?

The farmer has many acres of Coen I dont think he worries about a few cobs going to squirrels .

“best time of year to be a squirrel” 🐿️ Made me smile. 😁 I don’t think desert squirrels ever have it that good!

It looks as if this little squirrel has babies. Didn’t know they eat corn from the cob.

Yes they love the corn on the cobs.

Wow, those little guys are pretty strong to break off a whole cob and then drag it onto the lawn for a picnic lol.
