There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple. The philosophy is kindness.” –

Each New Year’s I choose a word to give me motivation and a goal for the coming year. I had started to think about this and had already tilted a bit toward one word. Then on Christmas Eve I saw a post by a friend on Facebook that cemented the word in my mind as the right word for the year. This person is not a Facebook acquaintance it is someone I know and see often . They had posted that times are hard with the inflation affecting the price of food in particular. They suggested that if anyone reading the post was in a situation of them or their children going to be hungry to send the person who put up the post a PM and they would help them by dropping off something at their house. No one need know it would be a matter just between the person on Facebook and the person in need.
For me this offer was true KINDNESS. And that is my word for 2023. Kindness is needed everywhere in the world today. It often seems to me that kindness is an endangered species. So I hope to keep that word in the forefront of my mind and that kindness will be the motivation for my actions especially towards others.
I should also say that I had an excellent Christmas break and now we are down in Florida.

My travel mascot, George likes to look out the front windshield and see where we are. He knew it was Florida as soon as he saw the palm trees.

I took the photo above with my phone. This is the view to the lake near where we are staying. I didn’t have to go far I just walked beyond the patio and snapped this . I am so lucky to be here. Biasini starts his journey down tomorrow and will arrive on Wednesday Jan. 4.
I wish all of you a New Year with good health and happiness for 2023.
Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.”
Mark Twain
I’d love to hear from you!
