The Grooms!

Here is a photo of one of the digital photos that would come up when a horse and rider came into the ring in the team jumping final at the FEI World Championships Herning 2022. What do I love about the photo? The Groom! This is the first time I have seen the grooms given an introduction as important members of the team. They know the horse so well and would be instrumental in keeping the horse in good health and also calm in the intense atmosphere of a huge championship like this one

The rider and the horse and also Georgia Ellwood with a photo. Georgia is the groom and an important member of this horse and rider team. The British Jumpers won the Bronze medal and those riders will know how important the grooms were to the winning of that medal.

That’s so cool! They’re like the under-sung heroes of the equestrian world. I kinda wish that they would be allowed to walk with the racehorses to the starting gate during our horse-races (some of those horses get so freaked out until their groom comes along.)
