Team GB Paralympian Equestrians take the Gold!

It was a nail biter to the finish for the Team Medals in Para Equestrian competition today. I was not able to see any of the tests as the riders of Grades 1V and V rode in what was the middle of the night here in Eastern Canada. Since the Canadian team had completed their rides yesterday the CBC did not replay the equestrian competition today. Canada finished in 10th place which is an improvement from their finish in Rio 2016 in 13th place. Bravo to the Canadian Para Equestrians.

Ultimately, a tight medal race finished with Great Britain on top of the podium on a total score of 229.905. The Netherlands followed close behind for the silver medal, scoring 229.249, and a score of 224.352 earned bronze for the United States.

The Netherlands were so close behind. The Dutch team of Rixt van der Horst, Frank Hosmar and Sanne Voets  won the Silver.

The Bronze went to Team USA!

Rebecca Hart who rode on the US Team gives a wonderful view of what it was like to ride for her country.

“This was such an amazing competition. It was so close, and it was a nail-biter until the absolute end. I’m so incredibly blessed and proud to be standing here with these two incredible riders. This was a complete and total team effort. For all the people and our support, our grooms, and everyone behind the scenes that make all of this happen, to be able to finally, after all these years, get to stand on that podium representing our country is so fulfilling. It’s a lifelong dream that has just come true.”

Same here in America. If an American doesn’t medal then we don’t see who does 😖
