Hello Dear Humans! I have been doing what you Humans call “Cross Training”. Yes! I have been out of the arena and I have been jumping. The whole thing started when Ma Leueen and I went out to the forest loop and I saw something very strange there. I hate seeing something strange in a place that should be familiar. So Ma Leueen had to lead me, up to the thing and give me some carrots and pat me and tell me it was quite safe. It was just this odd stack of short logs but it did look strange.
Ma Leueen got talking to Assistant Lynsey and she told Lynsey she would love to just toot round the loop and jump the log stack. But then she said she could not do that. She does have to be sensible because she is older, you know. But she asked Assistant Lynsey to take me. So as soon as Assistant Lynsey got on me a few days later I knew where we were going. Round the forest loop we went and as we turned the corner there it was …the log pile. I went on and jumped it No problem.
And that was not all we did! Up on the big grass field there were some more jumps. Ma Leueen had adjusted them so they were easy for me to jump. I could have done bigger jumps but even these little ones were fun!
We did quite a few of the small jumps.
Can you see how great my hind end looks? I have some serious muscles in what you Humans call my “butt”. I could do bigger jumps for sure with those muscles.
To finish up we went back round the forest loop and I sailed over the log pile again.
I had a grand time and Assistant Lynsey said she had fun too. When we got back to the barn she told Super Groom Lexi and Coach Belinda that I might have been an eventer horse in a previous life. I’ve traveled with some of them on the trips to Florida so I know what they do. They go galloping around over fences and through water. Pretty exciting stuff. I think I could have done that. But I am pretty good at the dressage, and I like it too, so I’ll stick with that for this lifetime.
