Biasini Speaks: I’m a bit annoyed!

Well Hello Dear Humans! I thought I was never going to get a chance to speak and I was beginning to get a bit annoyed! Ma Leueen tells me she is doing posts on the blob about horses and riders going to the Olympics. Well I know something about the Olympics. My friend Anton, at the barn at home, has been to the Olympics. He has! He went to the last Olympics. And he said it was just another show. Just another show with a long time flying in an airplane to get there. He also told me that the Humans make a Very Big Deal out of it. So I guess I will allow Ma Leueen to do the blob posts about the Humans and Horses that are going to the Olympics this summer.

But in the meantime I want to tell you what I have been doing. Working hard! Yes, that is what I have been doing. Coach Lou has been making Ma Leueen and me work, work, work. I think that is because we are going to another show. I guess he wants us to be better. Humans are like that . They always want improvement! Well, I am not going to bore you with the details of what we have been doing but I can tell you it is not easy and from what I hear Ma Leueen muttering, under her breath, in our lessons she does not find it easy either.

I have been talking to my paddock buddy Eli about all my work and he says Coach Lou, who rides him, makes him work hard too. We chat in the paddock and also when we are being brought in together. Here we are walking down the driveway.

Here is another photo . I am on the right and you can see I am being led by my friend Jose and Eli by Assistant Ene You can see that a visiting horse has come in a trailer. Eli does not like trailers parked in front of our stalls. It makes him nervous. I say to him: “Big E! It’s just a trailer. You know……. the kind we travel around in. ” But for some reason he does not like it and says it should not be parked obstructing the view from our stalls. He says it is just not right. Anyway….

So that is all from me Dear Humans. I hope that Ma Leueen will allow me to speak again before too long. Till next time…!

Thank you Ribana Human. I had a relaxing trail ride at the end of the week and today I had a nice day off to hang out in the paddock eating grass and chatting with Eli.🐴

Did you ask Eli if maybe the real reason he objects to trailers nearby is simply that he doesn’t like to ride in them? Charm, on the other hand, doesn’t like trailers suddenly appearing in places that they weren’t in before because she just doesn’t like ANYTHING that is now where it wasn’t before. I’m sure you can empathize!

Alli Human I absolutley understand that. I am not happy about seeing something in the arena which has not been there before Ma Leueen let’s me take s look at it and sniff it and then I’m ok. I think Eli does not like to travel in trailers and he told me he hates it when the handlers rush him and get angry if he is not fast enough to get on. I think you understand we horses very well Alli Human.

Lucky for me, Charm self-loads. She’s pretty good at backing out, too. Just a tiny tug on her tail and the word “back” and she’s stepped out. I’ve watched others try for an hour or so to get their horse in a trailer after a show, and then just give up and leave it there overnight, thinking maybe the next morning will be easier! Pretty sad, when you think about it.

I trained one horse I had to self load so I could go for trail rides with a friend. We had our own trailer then. Biasini has always just walked right on even in the dark at 6am for the trip to Florida. I think that teaching a horse to self load is a good solution. My trail riding friend taught me and it just takes some patience and that horse learned it quickly.

Thank you for commenting Viola Human. I have to travel to shows and also to and from Florida in trailers so it would be very impractical if I had trouble with them. The long trip from Ontario is boring but not uncomfortable. 🐴
