Last week I put in my entry for a horse show this coming weekend. On Thursday morning I got to the barn to find that the barn manager, Carl Callahan, had put an ice boot onto Biasini’s left front leg. What!!!! Sod’s law I thought. Put in a show entry and whoops…… something happens.
The day before Biasini had banged his knee. Only Biasini knows how he did it and he was not telling us. A day later the knee had puffed up and Carl , who never misses anything, decided to get some ice on it.
I groomed him and then had Carl jog him on the hard road. He was absolutely sound. But just to be safe I took him on a walk through the woods instead of working him. Friday he was fine with only a slight puffiness in the knee.
This was another occasion when Omega Alpha’s Tetda came to the rescue. Specifically designed for bruises and swelling it went to work and speeded up the healing process. I put it on after riding in the morning and Carl reapplied it in the late afternoon and again at night check.
The Tetda has worked very well for Biasini when he banged up a leg in the past and it did again this time. So we are back in full work and heading to the show in a couple of days.
