Anticipation! They begin to knicker and all the heads come out to look down the barn aisle. Some heads bob up and down with eagerness. Others begin to paw at their stall doors. They can hardly wait. The tell tale noises of the buckets being assembled…..the sound of the feed room door opening….yes…there she is! The Goddess of Feeding Time appears with numerous buckets stacked in her arms.
One by one each horse gets his meal delivered into his stall feed bucket. Oh the joy!
Surely this is the best time of day! The fact that it happens three times a day does not diminish the enjoyment of each and every meal nor the joy of anticipating it’s arrival.
