Seeing Double. LAPC #207

This week Jez has given us the challenge of “Seeing Double” His intention was to have us respond with reflections. But I don’t really have too many of those so I have found some other “doubles”. All these photos were taken at the 2019 Canadian National Draft Horse Championship.

These are such gorgeous creatures Anne – they definitely meet the challenge! I’d love to see them in person, somehow I visualize them as huge 😊

They are big. All of them are at least 18hh and weigh around 2000lbs. Glad you enjoyed the post.

Love these big guys! I also love the pulling horse competitions. I got some really nice shots of that a few years back when I had my portrait booth at the Michigan Great Lakes International Draft Horse Show and Pull in Lansing, Michigan. A friend of mine’s father and brother did the pulling competitions (she helped prepare the horses but didn’t drive or carry the eveners) and her father still does them in his 70’s. Everyone at that competition also knew who her father was!

Thank you for sharing that story. What a wonderful thing that would have been to see. I love the big guys too.

What a fantastic take on the post, Anne 👏 Love seeing the big workhorses; it’s like seeing the Kelpies in real-life 😃

Thank you Jez. I am delighted you liked my take on the post. And yes they could be the Kelpies in real life. They are so big and so powerful but gentle giants.
