May 16 FOTD Violets!

The violets are blooming. They may be tiny but I think their color and beauty make up for the fact that their size makes it difficult to pick them. Here are a few that I brought in from our garden.

I also submit these photos to Cee’s Flower of the Day photo challenge.

That’s a beautiful color, Anne. We have purple vinca, but I’m not sure we have violets.

Very pretty! Most of the ground under my larger flowers is covered with violets; they looked like plain green ground cover until spring hit…then, surprise!

I lived in a subtropical place where we grew them in the garden under trees as ground cover.

Nice. Here they are growing under the star magnolia.

Aha, I thought they would have a special place to grow. When they are not happy they won’t give any flowers.

My mom loves purple flowers; I should see if the store has some for our garden 🙂
By the way, what other kinds of flowers do you enjoy growing, if I may ask?

I like to grow perennials that will bloom.year after year. Also i like the ones that have seeds for the birds after blooming.
