Monday Minstrel: Patient Bird

I was sitting in my car, eating a take-out sandwich, and I had the window down. I could hear all the birds singing and chattering. Then I noticed this little bird. He was on top of a hedge and let out the occasional chirp to let me know he was there. He knew I had something to eat and I think he was encouraging me to share some of my sandwich. He waited for about 15 minutes and then his patience ran out and off he flew!

I do not know what this bird is as I am not familiar with birds in Florida. If anyone reading this knows please leave a comment below.

I am not sure of the bird but I am proud of you for not giving him peoplehood – well I guess it is okay when folks do that – but I don’t do it either
and once when I was waiting for my spouse to finishes a meeting – I was at a take-out place and there lots of “begging birds” who were likely used to being fed – but I stood my ground and did not give anything

side note -birds chirping and sharing their sounds is truly a gift in life, eh?

I love listening to the songs and chatterings of birds but I stand by my decision that bread is not the best thing for them.

Yes – and neither are fresh fries cooked in industrial oil (the kind of oil that scars humans livers and is not good for us either – so that canola and vegetable oil is bad news)

It’s so cute! It looks like a sparrow but I’m not a birder (but love all birds) I do agree, I don’t think bread is good for them. But how cute it was trying to get a treat!!

What a lovely picture! I want to say this bird is in the sparrow family. I remember seeing them flocking around the horses to scoop up any dropped goodies.

I could be in that family. I am going to look up Florida birds on the Cornell Ornithology site and see if I can find it .

I’m not familiar with birds either, but glad to know it wasn’t that aggressive one😂 I sometimes witness someone got robbed by birds😫🦆🦢🦅

No this one was a small bird and not the least bit aggressive. I almost gave him a bit of my sandwich bun but I don’t think bread is too good for birds.

I can not always see the birds, and rarely know their names. Having them out there is a joy nonetheless.
