Late afternoon. The horses are all in from the paddocks. Inside the barn they are warm and cozy. They have had their dinners and are munching their hay, settling in for the night. Winter has arrived.

We came close to having snow on Wednesday, just a few flakes on the wind. The weather today, absolutely gorgeous and warm.

Ghastly here today. Did not get above freezing all day and a vicious wind that made it feel even colder!

Oh wow! I’m so happy he isn’t concerned about coyotes and also happy the bear or bears are no longer nearby! I forgot about all the wildlife that you may encounter in your local woods!! We have a lot of coyotes here in and around the town. Many who own chickens if not protected will lose them to coyotes. There are mountain lions and bobcats but they generally stay away from busy neighborhoods. There’s deer too, more on the bigger mountains & more rural areas.
In the bigger mountains here we do have black bears. Thankfully no grizzlies as I think their territory’s are Montana and those northern states.

Yes the snow is beautiful. A lot of it is gone today as it was above freezing temperature. Biasini and I went for a hack today. We did the goat trail and I can see from the tracks it is a coyote highway! But Biasini did not seem concerned. There was a time when there was bear in the forest and he would not go on any of the trails that went west. I think he could smell bear in that direction. Not a Grizzly just a smaller brown bear but still. Belindas’ husband saw it .
