What a wonderful silver lining, as I didn’t know how The Brooke organization came about. And to see that they’ve helped millions of animals which is incredibly impressive! What a lovely post to honor those animals who have served and should be honored. ❤️

It was difficult time during the war. She helped save these horses.

Yes she did and most importantly she created the Brooke that now looks after working equines all over the world.

I appreciate the work of Dorothy Brooke. But perhaps the horses would not have been so poorly off without the was? It is hard to be anything but horrified by the brutality of war, and its aftermath.

I agree . The horses would have stayed in their home countries and lived their lives in peace. This would have been much better for them. War is horrendous. But at least now working equines are getting help from the Brooke in countries all over the world. That is the silver lining that I see.
