Biasini Speaks: Teaching Dave the Trails.

Hello again Dear Humans! This week I was given a teaching job. I was asked to go with Ma Leueen into the forest with Coach Belinda, riding her horse Dave and Super Groom Lexi walking beside Dave. Ma Leueen told me that my job was to give him confidence as he was not used to going into the forest. No Problem.

Well, I thought it would be no problem but that is not exactly how it worked out. First of all Dave had to lead. That is ok with me I have no trouble with another horse going ahead of me. But Dave was beside SG Lexi. As you know Humans on their two legs cannot walk at fast as we horses on our four legs. So progress was so slow. I had my nose almost into Dave’s hind end most of the time. Ma Leueen kept pulling me back and that got me annoyed as I wanted to get going! Then we went up a hill and down on the other side. It was a steep downhill. It has been raining a lot and I knew that the middle of the trail was muddy and slippery. I said to Dave: “Stick to the side of the trail or you may slip in the mud.” Did he listen to me? No, he did not, and he slipped and got all knotted up about it! SG Lexi and Coach Belinda had to stop him, and give him reassuring pats. “Dave, buddy, I told you to go on the side or you might slip. But its no big deal so let’s get going.” He gave me a look and finally we went on.

I settled in to a slow leisurely walk. But before I knew it we were turning back to the barn. What? That was too short.

But Ma Leueen knew I wanted to do more so she told SG Lexi and Coach Belinda that we would go back to the forest. We retraced our steps and when I went down that steep hill I stepped onto the side of the trail where there is grass and plants and no slippery mud. Ma Leueen does not interfere with me when going down hills. She gives me a loose rein and lets me choose my own pathway.

We had a nice walk on the trails.

Ma Leueen has told me she posted on the blob about when she dropped her tellingbone on the ground on a forest trail. She got off and picked it up. I stood very still to let her get on again.

I got my winter coat clip from Super Groom Lexi. I was well behaved while she was doing the clipping but when she was almost finished I realized that dinner was being served. So I fussed a bit but SG Lexi did not understand what I was saying. So I made my point VERY clear. I wanted my Dinner! Right! Now!

I was taken to my stall and enjoyed my delicious dinner.

Ma Leueen has told me that she offered to go with Dave and his Humans to the forest again. Well I hope that next time Dave will listen to me about how to go down the steep hills!

Till next time Dear Humans!

Aww, so good to hear you helping Dave on his lesson out into the forest. Trails can be tricky and it sounds like you and your Ma have the experience needed to handle them as it’s always so nice when you tell us about your trail adventures!! Beautiful photos! And yes, I totally understand wanting dinner! Haha, you make me giggle Biasini! ❤️🐴😀

Hello Diana Human. Nice to hear from you again. Ma Leueen tells me Murphy is settling well and can go out on the trails. Maybe he could come up here and help Dave!🐴

You are an excellent teacher sweet Biasini and it was lovely to see you were a lot more patient trying to help Dave than you were waiting for your dinner! It was good for Ma Leueen to take you for a longer ride afterwards and we wish you both a very happy Canadian Thanksgiving tomorrow 🤗🥕🧡🥕 xxx

Humans are different from us four legged animals. I also have to keep an eye on my mum while out walking. She can walk in her own world not watching where she is going. As soon as I glanse at her over my shoulder she gets back to where we are walking. We just have to keep an eye on them. High paws/ hoofs.

Trompjie! Good to hear from you my friend. Humans are different. But we horses are so big that usually they pay attention and do not get in our pathway. If we horses step on a Human it is not so good for them. Take care and keep out of your Humans pathway.🐴

Haha, I’ll stay out of her way. I know you are to big to get out of the way too.

You are wise to select your own pathway and avoid the mud. In fact, it occurs to me that we humans could all benefit from following our own “pathway” in life and avoiding the “mud” of our daily experience.

JWS Human, I think this is an interesting idea. I’m sure it would be beneficial to avoid the mud in life as well as the trails. Thanks for commenting.🐴
