Last weekend we went with our daughter and her family to the Toronto Zoo. This is a huge property with lots of space for all the animals who have settings that are as close to what would be their natural habitat as possible. At one location I saw an amazing collection of Day Lilies. I took several photos with my phone. The Zoo volunteer, who is there to give visitors more information about the various animals, saw me looking at the day lilies and taking photos. I told her there were ones that I had never seen before. She told me that one of the zoos board members had given this collection of day lilies to the zoo. She pointed out the ones with furled edges. I had never seen these before.
There were also colors I had not seen before !
Each plant also had a little label at the base giving the specific name of the lily . As I was just using my phone for the photos I was not able to get those labels photographed. Nonetheless I think this wonderful collection of day lilies deserves to be included in Cee’s Flower of the Day Challenge
