Spring Beauty FOTD

I have been admiring some of the flowers in the garden. I had to get out and take some photos as the weather has turned very hot and I know they cannot last in this heat. First of all the Allium.

Then in honor of Cee Neuner who loves the Iris here are my Iris photos. Cee has been giving some tips on photographing flowers and I have tried to follow some of them. It is very different than taking photos of horses. I thought it would be nice to show the progression from tight buds, to opening, to unfurled in all their beauty.

And the last photo was taken by my husband through the kitchen window. Snaps at work!

Lovely Spring blooms…last week I´ve seen beautiful Irises and it makes me wanna plant them next year in the garden.

Thanks for sharing your beautiful photos 🙏 🙏 It’s funny that we published a post about the irises at the same time. We noticed you have white irises in your garden. They are very special in symbolism, in the Islamic world associated with death, in the Christian ideology connected with Mary. We don’t have white irises in our garden.
All the best and thanks for commenting on our post

I did not know the symbolism of the white iris. I brought all of the iris the purple Siberian and the white and peach bearded iris up from the city when we moved here 20 years ago. I also have a smaller two toned Siberian but it has finished already. Thank you for the color information. Have a good weekend Fab Four!

Thank you very much, dear Anne.
Fortunately, the iris are easy to transplant and divide. We have inherited iris from the pre-owner of our house which are around 40 years old and they are still blossoming well. We have no idea how long they live.
Have a good weekend as well

Thank you Amy. I appreciate your taking the time to look at the post. The Iris deserved to have their photos taken I think.

Stunning flowers & photo taking, I love the water droplets on the iris but my favorite would be ya hubbys action shot of whom I’m sure is his favorite flower, Cheeky fun.

Well he likes to catch me off guard! The iris had those droplets after we had a bit of morning rain. Thanks so much for your comment.

Thank you Tina. Cee’s tips were valuable as they were things I never do for horse photos.

A lovely set of pictures. I always enjoy seeing the alliums especially, to me, they always look like little fireworks going off

    1. anne leueen Avatar

Yes! I had not thought of that but the alliums are like little explosions!

Thank you for sharing these beautiful flowers before the heat devours. 💐

Thank you. It was 32 Celsius or 89.6 F today with some humidity. Tomorrow thunderstorms! So I am glad I got the flowers captured before they wilt or get bashed by heavy rains.

      1. Michele Lee Avatar

Sounds warm for you. Yes? Oh wow, yeah, you seized the moment at just the right time! We are in Santa Fe and it has been gorgeous with some rain today. So nice! 🥰

        1. anne leueen Avatar

It has been much warmer than average for us. The humidity kicks in and that makes it feel even hotter. Tomorrow is forecast to have thunderstorms ! That is always entertaining as often the power goes out. Have a good week Michele and thanks for commenting.

          1. Michele Lee Avatar

Oh no! I hope you don’t have to deal with that. That happens occasionally where I live during monsoon season, which did not happen last year. That is also the only time of year we have any humidity to speak of. Thank you. Best wishes to you too!
