The Changing Seasons

Just after Christmas I went out with Biasini to the forest trails. There was about a foot of fresh snow. It was like riding through an Enchanted forest.

Here is the Enchanted Forest in December

And now here is the same trail in April. I have added a voice over thanks to the suggestion of Diana at My Life and Horse Stories. Her trail rides are through her neighbourhood. I enjoy hearing her speak on what she is riding past so I thought I should give it a try. Click on her blog to see her trail riding video Here is the trail in spring.

I will also show you a photo of the goat trail. There are no goats here but we call it the goat trail as it goes up on one side and down on the other and the pathway is very narrow. This name differentiates it from other trails in the forest.

As Biasini and I had worked hard for three days in the arena, I wanted to finish the month of April with a forest trail ride but the Weather Gods declined to give us the weather to do that. April 30 was a cold (5 Celsius) and extremely windy (gusts up to 80 kph). I was not going into the forest, with those winds, and have a tree branch crash down on us. So I chose to go to the front of the farm and walk around the paddocks. A friend took a snap of us.

I wish you all a peaceful and enjoyable weekend.

I agree with being safe in the woods with high winds around. You have a number of beautiful options for trails.

The forest has lots of old trees and they do come down sometimes in storms. And all that howling wind and cold weather would have Biasini on edge too.

Your horse is in tune with his surroundings.

Hello it was so great to hear your voice & the gentle hoof beats of Biasini. Seems no matter the weather the trails are just stunning. Awesome that you have somewhere nice to ride out & about on not so great days. Love the photo of you both you should frame that one, a true horsey gal the joy just radiates your whole being & you have the photo to prove it. lol

Thank you for this lovely comment. Biasini loves to go to the forest or just wander about in between the paddocks. He gets his head down like a western trail horse.😄

Oh I loved hearing you describe your trail ride and it’s so interesting there were no birds singing on your ride! You could hear how quiet it was, it was WONDERFUL! Amazing the difference between winter and Spring! Thank you so very much for including a link to my trail rides here from across the country! Happy day and weekend to you and family! Give Biasini a carrot or treat from Chloe and me. ❤️🐴
