This is Spring!

We have had some above average warm weather and the flowers are blooming . Here are some from our garden.Does anyone know what these little beauties are ?

Here are two small tulips that were opened up to let in the sunlight.

Here are the daffodils!

They are looking out and saying ;“Hello World!”

All of these flowers from the little tulips to the bright yellow daffodils have brightened my days this week. These are my Flowers Of The Day for Cee’s FOTD challenge. And this week’s Lens artists photo challenge is Colorful April from Amy! So this is my response to that challenge as well!! Thank you Amy!

We did not have very harsh winter but it had lots of snow. We are all happy to have this warmer weather but I wonder if this indicates a hotter than usual summer. I hope you cool autumn will be pleasant and not too cool.

You have warmed up quickly! The flowers are lovely. We have gone back to been cold again over here with snow in some places in England, I hear.

Nice collection. I have seen that first one, the striped squill, in gardens at altitudes of 1500 meters or so in the Himalayas in spring. That tells me a little about the weather that you are going through now.

I think we are about 700 ft above sea level here. This year we have had temperatures well above average. But this week we have more normal temperatures and several days of rain are forecast. The farmers needed rain but not this much! Thanks for commenting!

Gorgeous, Anne! Our flowers still arriving, not yet in bloom.

We have had above average temperatures that have brought out the blooms.

Yes. This time last year we were still in winter’s cold.

Well, “pushkinia sciloides” – who knew?! They really so pretty and delicate Anne – I don’t think I’ve ever seen them so thank you for that! Your ttulips are beautiful as well. They don’t fare very well here in the south and I do miss them. One day I really want to see the tulip fields in bloom – on my long wish list of things to see! Loved your bright spring colors!

    1. anne leueen Avatar

Thank you Tina. Today we have rain so all the flowers have closed themselves up and the daffodils are bowing their heads. But we needed the rain.

I don’t know what they are but they are beautiful.

    1. anne leueen Avatar

They are and they grow from tiny bulbs . I can see them when I am sitting in out kitchen eating area and they appear in early spring. Judy identified them as pushkinia scilloides!

I’m loving this burst of colour.

Lovely blue-white flower, Anne, I have never seen it before. Good to know the name from Judy. These beautiful flowers bring colors to spring, thank you for sharing. Due to the warm weather here, it is hard to grow tulips and daffodils, so I buy them from our local grocery store. 🙂

What a welcome sight! They’re all beautiful, but tulips are my favourite spring flowers. I’ve just came in from a walk with the dogs and the bank at the river is covered in wild primroses. 😀

    1. anne leueen Avatar

Wild primroses! That would be lovely!

  21. Judy Avatar

Those first flowers are pushkinia scilloides. 🙂

    1. anne leueen Avatar

Thank you Judy. I put in the little bulbs so I should have known. They have proliferated in a circular bed in our garden and they are a delight to see in early spring.

        How lovely!
