Winter Stills!

“How many lessons of faith and beauty we should lose, if there were no winter in our year!” — Thomas Wentworth Higginson

The swans of the summer are long gone and the small lake is frozen.

The pasture that had cows is deserted, the grass covered in snow. Clouds skim over the frozen landscape.

The horses all have their winter blankets on. But they are looking at me to see if it is time for them to come in.

The sun is setting on another winter’s day.

This is my response to Terri’s Sunday Still challenge. Not so much of the glacier blue in these photos but in the cold air it feels “glacier” blue!

I guess I missed all of them; we don’t have your kind of winter here

Haha! Don’t worry I do not think it is necessary to experience all the rigors of the Canadian winter to gain in knowledge in life.😀

One can almost breathe the crisp, cold air in these beautiful landscapes Anne. Nary a footstep to be seen either. Lovely post.

Wonderful blues, Anne. I feel the glacial air here too as snow is in the forecast in Eastern Washington. I really love the image of the horses in the pasture, such lovely composition.

Thank you Terri I appreciate your comment. I can remember skiing in Eastern Washington when I was a kid growing up in Vancouver BC. so I know there can be snow there.

Mt Spokane and another resort in nearby Idaho have lots of great skiing!

Perhaps that is where we went. It is a loooong time ago and I am not certain about where it was.

I’m still learning where everything is!

Haha! Yes it is cold. You would need a lot of special clothing to be comfortable outside here.
