Looking Back to Happy Memories

This weeks Lens Artists Photo Challenge comes to us from Journeys with JohnBo. Since most of us are in lockdown he invites us to ‘go back’ and visit places through our photos. As many of you know I am missing my horse Biasini. He is only 15 minutes away by car but due to the Emergency restrictions I cannot go to the barn to see him.So I have gone back through my photos of him for a ‘virtual’ visit.

In 2016 I took the Equine Photography online course and Biasini was my best model for the photo assignments.

In the fall of 2017 we had some baby goats who came for a short stay at the barn. Biasini was very interested in them.

Another baby Biasini liked was my Grandson. He was still pretty small in 2017

In May of 2018 we were out on the forest trails to see the Trilliums.

In January 2019 we were at a horse show at White Fences Equestrian in Loxahatchee Florida. It was a lot of fun. I really enjoy the shows there. Here is Biasini braided and ready for the ring.

And in March this year we were at White Fences again. We had competed in three shows for the White Fences Championship series. We were the Reserve Champions in the Adult Amateur FEI Freestyle with coaching from Luis Denizard known as “Lou” to his friends. Thanks Lou!!

I am certainly missing Biasini and my riding. I look forward to getting back to that part of my life and to writing blog posts about what we are up to and what we are learning.

To see Johnbo’s challenge click on Going Back and there will be other responses in the comments.

Stay well everyone!

What a beautiful animal! I can understand your missing the interaction with him. I can only imagine what he must be wondering. Love the image with the baby goat! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for the challenge. The baby goats were a riot. They were allowed to run around in the barn in the evening and the horses were very entertained by them.

These are beautiful images Anne – love the one with the baby goat and your grandson of course! Biasini must be missing you too! Do you wonder what he’s thinking about your having gone missing?

    1. anne leueen Avatar

I think he does wonder where I am. He must find it odd. I think he is going to be “speaking” about it this weekend. 🤣 The baby goat and our daughter and grandson are my favorite photos as well Tina. Thanks for commenting!

He is very handsome. I know he is well and being ridden by my coach and is well looked after but I do miss him very much. Thanks for your comment Ribana.

One thing that peoploe can do while in lockdown as look at photos as you did. It shows us how beautiful our lives were and how beautiful it will be once things return to some sort of normality.

    Be safe.

You be safe and stay strong too.⚘

Thanks for the family pictures. Cheers me up to see them. A horse woman friend just moved to North Carolina and her horse is at a very nice stable. She goes out to ride and takes a lesson without contact with anyone. It’s a small stable. I guess there’s no restrictions. Sorry you are not able to go see your beauty, Biasini.

Here in Ontario there is a provincial State of Emergency. It is that which has closed down all riding establishments to anyone other than staff. Luckily since my coach is the owner of the property she and her assistant can ride the horses. It is not a big barn but the restrictions apply across the board. Every province in Canada now has the same

Oh, I understand. Some places are far stricter. Glad he is being ridden.

Oh Anne, I really feel for you 😢 I have sometimes been separated from my horse for long periods of time (last summer I had an operation which kept us apart for many weeks) and I’ve felt so sad.
I’m counting my blessings here in my leafy hollow in England; I keep my lovely chestnut gelding on DIY on a farm, so I’m allowed to continue looking after him myself. I’m not hacking out because I don’t want to need to go to hospital! So I School and lunge him, pamper and treasure him. I sincerely hope that you and Biasini can soon be together again.
    With love

Thank you for the sympathetic comment 😀 I will be able to get back to riding but probably not until at least June as the lockdown has been extended till the beginning of June now.

AWE, what a great post! I can’t imagine not seeing my ponies but totally understand. We have to wear masks at our barn but it’s not closed. I absolutely love all your photos! My favorite is Biasini with your grandson and daughter! ❤️❤️❤️ And the next 2 photos are the ones where he is braided ready for the show and you winning at White fences this year! Fun memories!! ❤️😍🐴

The one with our grandson Silas is my all time favorite. He is 5 now and so much more grown up. Thanks for this comment!😃
