Distance and Distancing

Physical distancing or self isolation has given me an opportunity to do things I do not normally do like going for long walks down our road with my husband and our puppy June. The morning was rainy but in the afternoon it was dry and we set off. The air was much warmer than the last few days. Warm and almost humid. But the lakes were still covered in ice. The effect of warm moist air on the ice was magic.There are two small lakes. One near the road and the other in the distance.

This is my response to the lens artists challenge #90 Distance

    I love to walk! A lot of my posts are photos from my walks (especially right now when we can’t go very many places). I love to explore new areas on foot.

    Just plain beautiful.

    We’re still struggling with winter here in Colorado. We’re getting closer to rain than snow, but now that I said it, we’ll get snow and little more of winter. The daughters were a little jealous that I took a horse ride while they were taking their med school classes online. But, they’re glad I’m cooking for them. At least no bacon and eggs for dinner … well, not at least a few days. 🙂

      The day I took that photo was spring like temperatures bur now we are back to colder. No snow however. You stay well and stay strong too David.

      Yes Xenia we are lucky. Self isolation in the country with being able to get outside and walk is very different being locked in an apartment in the center of a city.

    So very nice! I do have a preference for the one in landscape mode, but I really like that you thought to shoot more than one orientation, this is something I forget sometimes.

      I like the landscape best too but I wanted to get the red twigs in at the bottom of the shot. Also I do a lot of portrait mode when shooting horses so I just do it without thinking too much. Thanks for commenting.
