This week Amy gave us the LensArtists challenge “A River Runs Through It”. We are on a 14 day Covid-19 isolation after returning from Florida to Canada and I suddenly thought “Wow! It’s Thursday! I am almost out of time for the challenge.” So here is my response.
Each day my husband and I go for an hour walk morning and afternoon. Today we walked on a friends’ land and it was beautiful. Here, beneath the ice there is water moving through this small lake. There is a river or stream there under the ice. You can just see the ice is starting to melt and break apart. Here are three different views.
On another small lake the territorial battle has begun. On the left you can see two swans and on the right circled in red there is a Canada goose. Every year swans nest on this lake in the reeds. Last year they raised four cygnets that survived to fly away in the fall. But in the spring there are always Canada geese that try to lay claim to this lake. In the 20 years we have been here they always give up and go elsewhere.
We have ten more days in isolation. Fortunately my husband and I get along well so no blood will be spilled or lives lost! And by the time we are finished the ice may be gone. Hope springs eternal.
