Last winter I did an interview with Colombian rider Carmen Franco who was riding for her country in the Nations Cup CDIO. I wanted to feature the flag on her saddle pad .This photo was taken during a Grand Prix jumping competition, in Wellington Florida. I wanted to feature the horse, his neatly tucked front legs and his keen eye looking toward the next fence. Dressage horse in competition completely focused on his job. Before…..After….I felt it was worth filling the frame to see the detail of the work that had gone into braiding and decorating this Clydesdale’s tail.
Yes that is what makes a good jumper. They need to be neat with those front legs. Thanks for commenting and I hope your own riding is still going well.
Riding is a sport where you learn to accept that things do not always go according to plan. I had a ride today where Biasini kept spooking at his shadow in the sunny end of the arena! Silly felllow!
Your shots are marvelous, Anne. They highlight the expressive beauty of these wonderful creatures. I especially love your “before” and “after” shot. They made me smile! Thanks for joining us this week. I enjoyed your post!
Such wonderful photos!! All of them filling the frame so nicely. That braid at the end is quite amazing!! My second favorite is the jumping photo, I miss jumping sometimes!! β₯οΈπ΄πβ₯οΈ

It is! Struggling with the rising trot though. Some times I can manage it, but most of the time it does not go quite to plan… π xxx
