This week Dutch Goes the Photo has the photo challenge of Fall.
Here is my response. I love this photo and it is a header on my blog site. This photo was taken a couple of years ago in October. Now the leaves in the forest are still green with us here but within a couple of weeks they will turn and fall. I love going for a ride in the fall as the sound of the leaves rustling under Biasini’s hooves is a magical meditation.

Hi Anne, what makes you so affectionate for horses? What do you find special in them?
Well Scott…if you keep reading my blog posts you may get a sense of why I love horses. They are intelligent and empathetic beings. A horse will know you as well as any therapist can. They are prey animals and having a sense of any danger and any incongruities are the instincts that have kept them alive over the centuries. So if you approach a horse and on the surface you appear very cool and confident but beneath that you have serious insecurities the horse will know this.They will pick up that incongruity and regard you with suspicion. So keep coming back here and you will come to know why horses are special and loved by many.

A beautiful photo which captures the colours of autumn – and taken from such an unusual viewpoint. And, as another commenter noted, Biasini has a lovely autumnal chestnut colour himself. I’m not keen on the nights getting longer but I do love the colours of this time of year.

Yes it is. And it does not happen everywhere in the world. The fall colors are here in the Northeast but not where I grew up in BC. There the leaves go to a dull brown or yellow and that’s it. So the spectacular array of color we have here is a treat.

It is a wonderful time of year. Even though it precedes the Canadian winter.
