A Royal Road.

This week Jansen Photo has given the challenge of ‘road’. Here is my response.

I took this photo at the Royal Mews in London. This is a photo of an image displayed on a screen of a video of a procession up the Mall to Buckingham Palace. Here is a photo of the carriage that the video was taken from.

This is the Diamond Jubilee State Coach. Weighing 3 tonnes it takes six horses to pull it. The “dash cam” for the video is in the crown atop the carriage Here is a photo of the crown and I have no clue where the camera is hidden!

I also have no idea what the purpose of taking the video is. Security perhaps?

Here is another photo of the Mall with the Horse Guards coming away from the Palace heading toward the Horse Guards Parade for the Changing of the Horse Guards.

I thought you’d been for a ride in the royal carriage for a moment. Three tonnes is VERY heavy!
