Not feet, not paws, not claws but hooves. Big hooves that belong to Biasini’s friend Khan. I chose the photos of Khan’s hooves for Cee’s Black and White photo challenge this week.
The lady who owns and rides him is quite petite. She uses a mounting block to get on and to get off. She does a great job riding him . She was given this horse when he was a weakling and he is now 14. She always says she would not have chosen such a big horse but he needed a home and she gave him a home.

Yes Khan, seen him already here. Very huge, remembering the horses we read sometimes in History

Yes he is very tall but not as heavy as the big work horses. He is an impressive fellow.

Such photos… impressive! I So elegant and cute at the same time, Biasini’s friend, Khan (hooves but still, a bit like paws to look at, very sweet). 😀

Thank you Nicole for this comment. As long at those big hooves don’t step on you it is ok!

The recent PBS special on the history and story of the horse is highly recommended.

Informative info, lovely animals, and beautiful riding. The human-horse bound was on display in the program.

Beautiful boy! I wish my big guy had feet like that, unfortunately he has crummy Thoroughbred feet.

Kahn is an Oldenberg Fresian cross. His feet are very good and a nice proportion for his size.

Beautiful photo – a spent a few seconds pondering what it must be like to have hooves instead of hands/feet there!

Not having opposable thumbs would be my biggest readjustment. Horses used to have 3 toes but have evolved to just one hard hoof.

Now those are some jumbo hooves! I’d need a ladder to climb on board Khan!
